Install MAC PC version directly from this website: PupilMetrics MAC OS
MAC users, please note: Because this software is distributed directly from our website (and not through the Mac App Store), macOS may show a security warning during installation. This is completely normal.
Apple includes these warnings as part of its Gatekeeper security system to protect users from unknown or unverified applications. Why You’re Seeing a Warning
When you try to open the app for the first time, you may see a message like:
“This app can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.”
This does not mean the app is unsafe, it simply means Apple has not reviewed or notarized it through their App Store process.
How to Open the App (2 Easy Methods) #
Method 1 — Right-Click Open (Recommended) #
- Locate the downloaded app file (usually in your Downloads folder)
- Right-click (or Control + click) the app
- Click Open
- A warning will appear again — click Open one more time
- This permanently allows your Mac to trust the app.
Method 2 — System Settings Override #
If you already tried opening and got blocked:
- Open System Settings
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Scroll down to the Security section
- You’ll see a message about the blocked app
- Click “Open Anyway”
- Confirm when prompted
🔐 Important Notes #
- This process only needs to be done once
- Future launches will open normally
- The app does not require disabling system security features
- No special permissions are needed beyond standard macOS behavior
💡 Extra Tip (If App Won’t Launch) #
If macOS still refuses to open the app:
- Make sure the file is fully downloaded (not partially)
- Try moving the app into your Applications folder before opening
- Ensure your macOS version meets the minimum requirements
🧠 Why This Happens (Simple Explanation) #
Apple restricts apps that:
- Are not from the App Store
- Are not signed with an Apple Developer ID
This is a blanket policy — it applies to all independent software, including many trusted tools.
👍 Reassurance #
Thousands of legitimate Mac apps are distributed this way. These warnings are a standard part of macOS and not an indication of a problem with the software.
